We’re looking for emerging artists from Goderich and the surrounding area to take the stage and show us why they deserve to be named the Saltiest Band/Performer of the Year!

Over the past three years, the Salt and Harvest Festival Stage has welcomed incredible acts like Coleman Hell, Dwayne Gretzky, and Finger Eleven.

 

This year, we’re turning the spotlight on local talent by hosting the first ever Compass Minerals BATTLE OF THE BANDS COMPETITION. Area bands will compete on the Goderich Performance Stage on Saturday, September 5, 2026 in front of a live audience and our panel of judges. Judges will critique and rate each performance based on demonstration of ability, professionalism, musical prowess, and stage presence.

 

The top 3 bands will receive a cash prize:

- 3rd Place: $1,000 

- 2nd Place: $1,500

- 1st Place: $2,500 and Saltiest Band in Goderich Award​

To be eligible to apply,

- All band members must be 16 years of age or older,

- At least one band member must reside in Huron County.

Only six bands will be selected to compete. Nominate your band today by filling out the application above and emailing it to specialevents@goderich.ca. Application window closes June 1, 2026. Selected bands will be contacted by June 12, 2026.
